Start with 15 free minutesCaptions show about one and a half seconds after the speaker finishes a sentence. The translated voice starts about five seconds after the speaker begins one. Those are medians we measured at a live event in October 2026, not a promise of the best case.
Good audio matters most: a stage microphone, not a laptop mic. Before the event you give Babel the agenda, speaker names and your terms, and you can lock how a word is translated. A person watches every language live and can fix a term in seconds. A strong accent still costs some accuracy, as it would for anyone listening.
Great interpreters win on nuance. They also cost $1,500–2,000 per language per day, plus a booth and headsets, and you need one team per language. Babel covers every language in the room all day for one price, and most events that use it could not have afforded interpreters at all.
A phone and any earbuds. They scan a code and listen in the browser. No app, no account, nothing to download. iPhones keep playing with the screen on; a background mode for locked phones is in testing.
Send Babel a clean feed of the stage audio, from the mixer or over NDI, and put the QR code on a screen. Babel sends captions back over NDI in any language and script, ready for vMix, OBS or a switcher. Most crews are set up in under fifteen minutes.

Audio is processed live to make the translation and is not stored by default. Transcripts are kept for your event summary and deleted when you ask. We never use your events to train anything. For sensitive events there is a zero-retention mode; ask us.

Live same-language captions for ADA/CART are $299 a day flat, NDI output included. Add translated voice whenever you want it.
